abbey insurance best deal ever

Post by davidwilson11 » Tue Jun 03, 2008 1:23 pm

HI all,

i have been using abbey based in Irland, they were set up specifically for the police force but as long as you know someone or pretend to know someone in the police force they will sell it to you without question.

i have had several perfomance cars over the years and never once paid more than £450, when you speak to them haggle a low price, haggle haggle haggle as they have margins to move on, also upon renewal they send a price out to haggle this also, i have done it for the past 5 years and each year its getting chepaer (not down to the no claim bonus).

08003895334

they also do home insruance and holiday cover if needed.

very good service and have also had a major claim on the wifes car for a full respray after vandals wrecked it. big jeep and it couldnt have been cheap.

David

Are they likely to insure a S/C Honda Elise?

I always just renew with Saga, but it goes up each year, so may be worth checking with an alternative.

I never bothered with C/R gearbox or Nitrons before, but hard to miss a S/C Honda engine, plus you are talking of another £13K on the insured value.

Cheers

I phoned an insurance company at the weekend there.

"What is the make and model of the vehicle sir"

" Its a S1 Lotus Elise 2 door Convertable"

" Is that the 1.2 or the 1.4"

"Erm they don't make them in 1.2 or 1.4 its an 1.8 something like 1786cc engine"

" I think you find they do sir its a 1.2 or 1.4 thats the choice"

" Well choice is incorrect because its a 1.8"

" Has the engine been replaced then sir"

" No they make them like that its a 1.8 Lotus Elise made in 1999"

" We don't insure them then sir, only the 1.2 and 1.4"

" I have been on your site and I see them listed so you definately do"

" No sir I am sorry we do not"

" Look I don't mean to be rude buts its not a very rare car they should be on your system"

" Looks sir I can't help you further with your enquiry I need a registration plate"

" Look I don't have one I don't know what one I am going to buy and not noted any down I am looking at"

" Well am afraid thats all I can do for you sir sorry"

" Is there someone else that will be more help then"

*DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Line goes dead*

Nice and helpful people :D
