Insurance with Trackday Cover

Post by G-Man » Mon Sep 29, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi

Just been quoted 2 grand for insurance policy from Competition Car Insurance (Eggar Lawson) for my exige!! (the one with 4 trackdays).

29yrs old
No points/1 year NCB (no convictions/claims in past 5 years)
postcode G41
secure underground parking.

This seems very steep. Are there any other providers that do annual policies with included trackday cover??

You could try Heritage.
Peter McIlvenny, Account Manager, Heritage Classic Car Insurance 0121 246 6067
Cover you for unlimited club organized track days, and £62.50 per non club organized day. Will do Class 1 business cover (which CCI don't)

CCI give a guide of £5 per thousand insured, so £150 per day after the 4 included in the policy.

I'm with CCI with 4 free trackdays and it was mega cheap at £400, 200 less than the same policy the year before for some reason. IT consultant, full NCD, car garaged, low risk area, clean licence and er, yes, I am becoming a bit of an old git  It does have some advantages....

I am with Richard Egger which I presume is the same company.

If so, that does seem steep as mine is £340 for a S/C Honda and 11 points, and also Trackday cover.

Richard Egger and CCI had an acrimonious divorce last year which ended up in court. Different companies now.

Richard Eggar too, 4 free TDs + 20% for agreed value. Much less than usual punters ~£550 +20%.

Thanks

Yes, seems Richard Eggar is a separate company now, will try this and Heritage also, see what they come up with.

Maybe you should give Matt Taylor of Henderson Taylor a call on 0161 437 742.

He's very enthusiastic. :thumbsup

BTW if you have not had trackday cover before bear in mind that your "track policy" will have an excess of around £6K for a £30k car.

Take care,

Frank
