CCI

Post by Neil72 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:22 pm

Shameless plug for Tracey at CCI (0115 941 6146) who not only came up trumphs with an excellent quote for me but was very helpful and knowledgeable in the process.

£365 for myself and 2 named drivers, including 4 trackdays 8) which easily beat my renewal from Elephant, Chris Knott, A plan, Richard Eggar and a few others too. I wish I didn't have to waste 2hrs of my life on the phone to these people but I guess we only have to endure it once a year.

Tried confused.com in the first instance just to get a benchmark figure but about 90% of the insurers declined to offer cover as soon as I declared a mod (exhaust). Best quote was over £700 ! No wonder folk hide these things from the insurance companies.

Anyway, big :thumbsup for CCI.

:D

Having just posted on your MOT thread, looks like our Elise expenses are at the same time Neil !

I'm already with CCI and renewal came in a couple of weeks ago as due at start of next week. Who are the actual insurers CCI are lining you up with ? Noticed this year mine says it is with Norwich Union compared to Chaucer last year. Think Chaucer were part of the Richard Egger/CCI fall out so expected a change.

No mention of trackday cover though which has me concerned :? , particulalry with NU as insurer as didn't think they do track day cover. Was clearly listed with Chaucer last year. Called CCI when renewal arrived and bloke says I still have 4 free days included. I left it but will be giving them a call again tomorrow before I sign up as this is key for me and will want something in print that says I have this.

DJ, the policy is through Norwich Union. Did Chaucer not go out of business ? Maybe I've just imagined that but I'm sure I read something about it somewhere.

Funny you should mention the Richard Egger/CCI fallout. CCI asked what I had been quoted elsewhere and as soon as I said "Richard Eggar quoted me blah blah blah" she said "we ALWAYS undercut Richard Egger, so don't worry we'll be able to beat that". I sensed a bit of rivalry going on

Trackday issue cleared up this afternoon. Thought they hadn't included this as price was soooo good. So signed up with CCI today; 5000 restricted mileage limit and 4 trackdays included at a staggeringly good £261  :thumbsup

£261 ?? That's an unbelievable price DJ. How much is your excess ?

I've just discovered that I have protected NCB with my policy as well which I never knew about

I'm convinced these places pluck figures out of thin air and it's just your luck if they are looking for new customers or not on the day that you phone. I never heard any keyboard tapping before my quote was delivered on the phone. I think she just took the Richard Egger quote and subtracted £100 from it.

Same as last year - £450. Enquired about lowering it but guy said that was the standard excess for that policy and I wasn't that bothered so left it. Got protected NCB too :thumbsup

Same as Neil72 I am guessing if forum name reflects year of birth ? ...which was why I posted and thought my price was exceptionally good; same age, same Elise model, live only 20 miles or so apart but for some reason over £100 cheaper.:scratch Wonder if it's because it is my second year with them as I was £350 last year, otherwise can't really understand how it dropped £90 this year particulalry as I increased the mileage limit from 3000 to 5000.... but not complaining !

You would always expect an exige to be more expensive to insure than an Elise, no ? Expect you're younger too ?

Guys, I got two qoutes from CCI & Richard Egger almost exactly the same about £300 with 4 days track cover, however if you look over the track day wording you will see CCI, (NU), have £2000 min, or 10% car value whichever is greater as excess....whereas Richard Egger, (Chaucer have £1000 min excess or 10% value), so for me Richard Egger were slightly better, however if your car is worth more than £20,000 then it may not matter as much...just something to watch out for. Also Richard Egger include 1 of the 4 track days for European tracks, may not matter really, but again just small details...

Cheers,
Pete :thumbsup

I will need to try these people see if they can help with a quote

99' S1 Elise 111s
22 Yr Old with 3 Years NCB + my Dad
Lanarkshire - Car park
5000-6000 a year

Right now I am getting quoted between £1600-£2500 mostly with some companies looking for £10,000 extra. One reason to grow older quicker  Worth every penny though.

Scotty - expect them to be crap for you mate.

I'm in the class of 72 brigade also and they couldn't get close to the £530 that I pay to AON at present. Must be a postcode thing - maybe it's all the tinks coming from Bellshill to nick stuff that puts my premium up :damnfunny

Try adding your Mum to the policy, should knock it down a wee bit :thumbsup
