My renewal price was higher than last year, so when shopping around I got quotes from Richard Egger and CCI, both of whom include trackday cover.

They both say something about the track and organiser having to be approved - anyone know if the typcial Knockhill events (e.g. SIDC days) are covered by this?

There's no point in me paying for cover if it ends up being useless in the event of a claim.

Yes. Everything at KH will be approved as it's covered by KH staff and briefings. It's only stuff like airfield days or events on smaller tracks that have varying levels of organisation and briefing/rules that they omit.

Cool. I've only done the very occasional trackday, but having insurance for it may encourage me to make more of an effort.

Also, if relevant to your circumstance, you should check cover for foreign track days (almost certainly excluded) and driving on the nurburgring for tourist days (also almost certainly excluded).

Cheers,
Robin

Best check with the insurer. I know that with Heritage it had to be a day organized by the club which i was a member and they only recognized certain clubs. I think my cci policy is the same. The good thing is that it includes euro days organized by LOT.
