Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Just thought I would post up I just cancelled my insurance with Admiral and they offered a discount then a loyalty discount taking £100 off the quote with less no claims than last year .
Direct line were cheaper by miles with full legal etc so I have better cover than last year ( Thats using 6 years no claims instead of nine) . I had to phone up to confirm as it was so good. They are doing twelve months for the price of ten at the moment .
B.t.w. Thats on a new Fiesta Zetec S , no mods.

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Renewal in from admiral. Amazingly competitive. £300 for wife's BMW, £340 for lotus and £210 for landy. All with business use for me.
Total pretty much what last years premium was despite stories of 25% increases!
Had a quick look around but for the sake of shaving a few pounds off not going to spend days doing it.
Just FYI

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Tried the different address trick with admiral and it was a whole £10 cheaper.
I have just done on online quote with aviva and it was almost half the price
Just to add I put Ann the provisional licence holder on the Elise and it has gone down

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Not sure if anyone else has looked at the internet only Swiftcover.com (part of Axa) but they are being ridiculously cheap with some quotes for me at the mo. I had the Merc insured with them previously for about 4 years and they were the only company where I ever just let it roll over into the next year. I think they do cherrypick and choose who they cover and sometimes it is a case of "computer says NO" .. but when it clicks...

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Renewal came through today at £100 more than new customer so managed to get them to match new customer price. Looks like their renewals are more competitive these days.
Aviva don't seem to do three cars and unless someone can insure the vx for £200 then I think I'm sticking with admiral

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Renewal for us in March was within about £30 of last year, so left well alone.
Probably going to get clobbered next year thanks to an over-exuberant young deer on the M9 recently but we shall see. On the plus side - and where it really counts - Admiral's processing of our claim has been exemplary, including authorising a bodyshop which is not on their favourites list. So far so good, anyway. Car in for painting next week and provided I get it back before our hols, I'm a happy Admiral customer

Yes. Thankfully. Of a sort - could do without the grief right before our summer hols, for which the barge is, er, critical (!)...but just as well it wasn't the Elise
Hoping for word on completion from Steve Walker tomorrow...

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
Ouch.
Hit a young deer about 8yrs ago in my Alfa 156 at 70mph.
The damage was so severe it was touch and go whether it was to be written off (car was only about 4yr old at the time)
Hope all were ok (apart from the deer obviously ) - we had the whole family on board, but I didn't attempt to swerve, just broke hard - almost made iit too as I just caught its hind quarters, but its head got whipped round and battered the front wing almost where it meets the door

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
I did same as you - no swerving, just hard braking. Although if you braked hard and still hit it at 70...
Small deer also. Reckon we caught it at 40mph.
Whilst my IAM observation training was clearly lacking (Lisa saw it first!!), my reaction times were good But I'm sure Walshy could have shown me that I could have braked to an even lower impact velocity
c'est la vie...first time ever in 24 years...hopefully last too...

Re: Admiral Multi Car not so cheap anymore
That's a bummer Campbell No matter how much training you have, sometimes there is a situation that you simply can't avoid. In the past year I have had two near misses with deer; was just lucky that the timing of them appearing gave me a chance to avoid them; both within a mile of my house. The thought has crossed my mind; what would happen if a deer collected a biker
