Typical Excess Value??

Post by Dark » Tue Nov 19, 2013 12:44 pm

Over 40, no recent claims or convictions.

The insurance renewal on my Subaru Legacy is very cheap, £160 fully comp with £100 excess.

However trying to ensure the new Elise is another story. Through the normal comparison sites the premiums are coming in at £250-400 but the minimum excess is £500 or even £700.

Is this normal?

Next stop will be REIS, CCI & A-Plan I think.......

I've just changed from REIS to Chriss Knott insurance, maybe worth a call.

Ended up with Admiral Multi-car. £675 total for the Legacy, wife's Impreza and the new Lotus (with 2bular exhaust declared).

REIS wouldn't quote on the Lotus since I didn't have 1 years experience driving it, Chris Knott & A-Plan were both about £400.

Just need to buy the 2bular now!!! :)
