Jamie and myself, and seemingly everyone else at the last Nyloc day at Croft had a fantastic time, but well, hey ho, each to their own  . Be interested to hear what Brian thinks after his day at Croft this weekend. BTW the trip down and having a few beers the night before is part of the fun :D

Absolutely with you here... Different types of day suit different drivers. A lot of folk prefer the more structured style that sessions create - it means you don't waste time gassing that you could be on track.

However, my preference is to stay out for almost a tank of gas at a time. On one KH sesh, this meant I was on track for nearly 1.5 hours. Obviously, only if the car can handle it... As for the driver, I was starting to think about tiring at the end of that stint and the cruise to the petrol station and then a natter for half an hour afterwards was needed - but I got right on track to the end after that. Passed out like a light in front of the telly that night though!

It's a concentration thing - mine gets better the longer I go and I can't be consistent when I pop in and out of the pits, hence I don't do sessions...

But that's me - everyone is different 8)

Back from Lotus-on-Track day at Croft. Easy drive down - not much more than 2 hours from Glasgow.

Great circuit for an Exige - fast and medium fast corners terrific - Sunny is a great one too if you get it just right. On the fastest, I could for the first time think that a suspension upgrade might be justified. Following a Nitron-eqipped car, it was flat thro' the high speed Jim Clark esses - mine felt like a softly sprung saloon by comparison!

Dubious about the session format - tho' 20 mins stretch is enough for me and the car, certainly in the morning's extreme heat, 40 mins ideally too long between sessions. However, as I understand there are only session-ed events at weekends that would not prevent me doing this again - sufficiently different circuit and a new challenge - which we all need occasionally after 100 laps of KH!

Glad you enjoyed it Brian - it is a great circuit.

If anyone might be interested in joining Tim and myself on Sept 2nd I believe there are still places available, and free accomodation and off street parking the night before is sorted - courtesy of my brother who lives near the circuit and is leaving me with the keys to his rather swish house while he is away on holiday :D All welcome.
