SPRINGTEST 11 AUTOTEST


Sunday 2 April 2006


1. The Scottish Sporting Car Club Limited will organise a Clubsport permit Autotest, and a Production Car Autotest on Sunday 2 April 2006, at the premises Bell College, Almada street, Hamilton (Map Reference 64/718559).


2. The Meeting will be held under the General Regulations of the Motor Sports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting code of the FIA), these Supplementary Regulations and any written instructions that the organising club may issue for the event.


3. MSA Permit Numbers: Applied for.


4. The event is open to all fully elected members of the Scottish Sporting Car Club, Lanarkshire Car Club, SMS Motor Club, East Ayrshire Car Club, 55 Car Club and Autotest Drivers Club Scotland.


5. All competitors must produce a valid club membership card.


6. The event is a counter in the SSCC Club Championship 2006.


7. The programme of the meeting will be: Scrutineering starts at 10.30 hrs. Any competitor not signed on by 11.30 hrs may be excluded. First run starts at 11.30 hrs.


8. The event will consist of 6 classes as follows:-

1) All Front Wheel Drive Specials

2) All Minis

3) Saloons up to and including 1600cc

4) Saloons over 1600cc

5) All Sports and Kit Cars, and all Rear Wheel Drive Specials

6) Production Car Autotest


9. All vehicles must comply with MSA technical regulations (E12, F11 & section Q). Classes 6 must also comply with F12, and carry a passenger as per F10.4.1.


The following regulations are modified for classes 1 to 5:

E 12.4.1 Forced induction coefficient will not apply.

F 11.8.3 Light commercial vehicles are permitted in appropriate classes.

F 11.4 Four wheel drive vehicles are permitted.

F 11.8.1 Vehicles need not be registered or taxed.


10. The maximum entry for the meeting is 40, the minimum is 10. The minimum for each class is 3. Should any of these minima not be reached the organisers reserve the right either to cancel the meeting or to amalgamate classes as necessary. Entries will be selected in order of receipt by the organisers. Entry fees may be refunded for entries withdrawn in writing not later than 24 hours prior to the time the competition is scheduled to start.


11. There is no limit to the number of times a car may be entered but it must be driven by different drivers on each occasion. A driver may not enter to drive more than two cars. When a competitor enters two cars, he/she must nominate which entry is to count for the championship/challenge prior to the start of the event and that car must be driven first in each test. In the absence of a formal nomination the first car driven will be deemed to be the nominated car.



12. The entry fee is £12.00. The entry list opens on receipt of these regulations and closes finally on Wednesday 29th March at 7.00 pm. Entries may be made by telephone in the first instance (such entries must subsequently be confirmed in writing on the official entry form accompanied with the appropriate fee).

15. (a) Final Instructions, Details of Tests and Timecards will be issued at signing-on.

(b) Competitors will be identified by numbered Timecards

(c) Practising will not be allowed.

(c) Timing will be by stopwatch.

(d) The starting signal will be verbal.

(e) Order of attempting tests will be at organiser's discretion.


16. Each competitor's worst time from each group of tests will be discounted when calculating the results.


17. Marking and penalties will be as printed in the appropriate section of the MSA General regulations except as modified below.

F 7.2.2 c Not performing test properly - lowest time in Class + 30 marks

F 7.2.2 (d) Striking a pylon, barrier or wall or crossing boundary of test - 5 marks lost.

F 7.2.2 (e) Failing to cross or stop at any line or specified position - 5 marks lost.

Failing to stop at a Baulk line - 10 marks lost.


18. All other general regulations of the MSA apply as written except for the following which are modified: F 4.3.2, 4.4.3 Pylons may be less than 1m high.


19. Provisional results will be published as soon as possible after the end of the event.


20. Any protest must be lodged in accordance with O 5.1


21. Awards will be presented as follows:

First Overall;

First in each class (except class containing First Overall, where the award will go to Second in Class);

and, subject to 3 or more starters in each category: First Novice; First Beginner; First Lady.

(A Beginner is a competitor who has not previously won any award in an Autotest; a Novice is a competitor who has not previously won any award other than a Beginner's award).


22. Entries in Class 6 are not eligible for Overall award.


All awards will be presented at the Club's Annual Presentation of Awards 2007. No competitor may win more than one award.

Yup, free to watch. Just don't expect any facilities of any kind - it's a car park.

However, you are in the middle of Hamilton, so the bright lights aren't far away ;)
