old doubles at Raceland were pretty quick IIRC,, couldn't have been far 60-70mph at fastest points

0.9km track at Raceland way better than KH - flat out almost everywhere - sub 1 min laps easy in the dry

Tell me about it - last time I was there with the SE contingent, I speared the barriers at the quickest corner and then immediately got speared by a MexiJock.... Broken rib for my troubles.....

I never had any shunts but my ribs still came away very tender... the very fast right sweeper - full throttle - nice moment as you creep out to the tyres and catch some dirty ground on your left tyres..

I've had an 'Arton Senna at Tamburello' moment at the that corner as well.

It had just started to drizzle and I thought in my infinite wisdom that I would still be able to take the corner flat out. Coming to an instant stop hurts in a kart.

I had one too in a dodgy kart which unbekown to me it only turned left. After the usual first lap shenanigans on the first 2 corners it went rond the left hander really well. I should have sussed really but with the pack hard on my heels I barrelled into 'Tamburello' flat... and went straight on.

Of course Ali mentioned it to all the rest of us (yeah right) and I did the same in the next heat, and was promptly collected by GilesM.
