Can do if ya want - don't see a hassle as we both still post to join up Yahoo all the frigging time
As Robin said, nobody 'owns' SE, it's a collective (man)

And it's not like we've abandoned the Yahoo group ourselves as proven with Tut's statistics

Just a thought :-
But who hosts this BBS?
I notice the URL resolves to another site (freeyabb or something).
Why not put in a front page - explaining a bit about who we are and the kind of folk we are looking for as members, explain the difference between the BBS and the Yahoo group and link to them both?
That way you can always pick which forum suits you best and doesn't assist anyone who would try and benefit from a them/us spilt.
Cheers

Good point Mac,
Problem is if we set up a S_E page, it then it looks like we're stepping on Del's toes. Part of the problem with new sign-ups (and I do a bit of this for a living) is that any extra hassle makes people give up on the process.
If you look at the post at the top of the newbies forum, it gives explicit instructions that the Yahoo group is the more populated and that Del's site is there.
IMHO that's plenty.

Oh, ad I did ask Del to update the SE page with a forum link, to achieve what you say - but he hasn't bothered yet.

Fair comment - not looked at the newbie stuff.
BUT,
as a means of developing the elise community in Scotland I think we ALL deserve a better home page.
No offence to Del and I would be quite happy to cross post to the yahoo groups - but the more the merrier and we might even get enough folk here to do our own Kh track events.
Does seem a waste of the .com though. What about even a black screen with 2 links - Yahoo group and BBS?

Fairy muff. Have a word with Del, offlist if you feel it's more polite, and let's see about getting a decent page put together. We can point the .com anywhere.
Got a bit of a busy week on, so we'll have to give it a while...

I'll speak to Del offlist as suggested and then if he's cool with it throw it open to the members.
I'm sure there must be a few graphic/web designers amongst us here. I know of at least 2 on the yahoo side.
Cheers

I'd already suggested that and nowt came of it. I offered to do the code side of it if needed (sadly it's my job

) as the current one is a bit, erm, dated. It's got what appears to be posts from people on runs but just as web pages, makes it look a bit strange if you ask me.

I was more thinking along the line of leaving Del's as is and just having this over the top of it.
The yahoo groups page does now have a link to here but you need to be a memeber first before you can view it.
Not wishing to cause any waves here or for people to think I've just came over to throw my weight around (no jokes please Shug

I'm not fussed, just didn't want to annoy/upset anyone.
