Karting

Post by douglasgdmw » Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:30 am

Folks,

I can remember that we used to have a karting event in early January for people on the forum, just wondering whether anything is happening again this year?

I think there even used to be one in Dec, just ahead of Christmas :-)

Stu used hold one for his staff which was sometimes opened up to SE to make up the numbers

There also used to be a SE organised event in-between Christmas & New Year on the outdoor circuit at Raceland.

The outdoor circuit at Raceland was closed for 2 weeks due to the weather & only just opened again at the weekend. Possibly be a bit of a backlog of re-scheduled bookings I'd guess.

The past couple of years I have organised an event at Xtreme in Falkirk, followed by a curry in Glasgow, between Christmas and new year. I have not had a chance to get anything sorted for this year. If there is the demand (at this short notice) perhaps something could be arranged?

Last year a few of us went ice karting in Cambuslang. Now that was epic fun! Studded ice tyres, and big power slides. Not sure if there is sufficient ice yet this year, and that really does need to be a short notice thing.
