New pastures!

Post by dirkpitt » Thu Oct 18, 2012 9:57 am

Stop the press I have an announcement!

For those who I have had the grand opportunity to meet on here, I am moving from sunny Glasgow to the posh end of the world of Bath for a new job…..

Im kind of missing the place already……..and I will defiantly miss the SE meets, runs and trackdays, …that you guys and girls put on… also, the whisky, the roads, the scenery, the food…etc…but not the weegie weather!

The girlfriend is going to stay up here and help sell the property. Her contract in Edinburgh, runs out next April…..so I’ll be popping back up a few weekends before Christmas….all dependant on how quickly the place sells…

I have been looking at the roads and race tracks in the area and there doesn’t seem to be a great deal compared to here……which is a shame

However, all is not lost, as I will be still annoying you all with my quirky comments on here as always… :P

leigh :cheers

Good luck with the move Leigh, and good luck for the new job!

Will be sad to see you go,... (another exige leaving Glasgow).

Congratulations :)

Quick question, (as someone who moves around a lot) why sell your property? Why not rent it and leave yourself a nice nest egg? Fully understand if you don't want the hassle though!

Enjoy the new job :cheers

Congrats!

Track & road wise - Castle Combe isnt far away at all! (13.3 miles!!)

Roads - you aint far from Wales and they have some great roads. You just need to read a car magazine to see where all the London based journo's head (for every review in the case of EVO almost!)

Also near to the Ariel factory should you decide you need a real car

best of luck with it all

We have thought of this, as we love the flat....but on more consideration, we came to the conclusion it was best to sell and start clean….

The worries were, that it was a lottery on having great tenants who would not wreck the place and have the flat spotless and ready for any viewings, if we wanted to sell…… all a hassle and unwanted worry for the small amount of profit really…..

Good luck with the move Leigh. Visited Bath a year or two back - just like Edinburgh. Somerset just to the west might have good driving roads.

Will miss you, friend :(
Has been great knowing you since i got my Lotus 2 years ago doing quite a few runs together, few camping weekends and you helping out with my Elise, cheers.

Good luck with the new job and the house sale.

A Wales camping and road run weekend sometime.....that sounds like a plan.

Sure, it is a lot of hassle and getting good tenants is hard, just thought I'd throw it in there. Enjoy the move! :)

Sorry to hear you're moving away Leigh, best of luck with the move :thumbsup

I'm sure you'll find plenty of nice roads in the area for the Exige, not a huge distance down to the south coast where there are a few good roads too :D
