As some of you may remember, I have been asked to drive RA Motorsport Developments demo car in the Pro Class in the Time Attack Championship this year. The car is an Subaru Impreza running a 2.2 engine with a GT40/96 turbo and a six speed sequential gearbox. It should make around 800hp when running at full chat.

Unfortunately, a couple of days before the race, a wiring fault reared it's ugly head and ruined the mapping session. The car then decided that it would not even start. The guys from RA then had a massive task in their hands as they also had 2 customer cars to get ready for the 1st event as well. After a massive effort from the guys at RA, the car finally started on saturday afternoon. We decided to head down to Silverstone as there were quite a few cars from our class that would not make it to the 1st event, it would mean we got at least a bit of a test session and possibly some points on the table. Bearing in mind that I had not driven the car before so as much seat time as possible could only be a good thing.
The day did turn out pretty useful as we got a lot of teething troubles out of the way, some decent test data and I got a bit more used to using slicks and a sequential box. The car has shown some great potential and I have no doubt that if we had have been running full power then we would have been right up there.
The next event is on Sunday the 25th of May at Knockhill so hopefully I will see a few of you guys there. I am looking forward to getting the car on home soil, not looking forward to having to keep with the track limits with the new MSA regs though. It was largely ignored at SLS but I have been warned that things are going to be tightened up for Time Attack. I'll hopefully get some testing in for this event too at the SIDC track day on the 17th

Take a bit of time to look closely at the Facebook sticker
