landrovers
Re: landrovers
I hope you spent the rest of the weekend detailing the paintwork?
Re: landrovers
Funny you should say that Kenny, I managed to do that during the event;
First off all, take one river and drive through it to rinse;
Then spend some time claying it; in the mud
Take it through a forest to aggravate the clay (apply some trees to the sides & top),
Then through some more rivers to rinse
Then more claying ( I actually had to tip it on it's side and rub it through the 'clay' at one point)... note to self: remember to fold in the wing mirrors before trying this again.
Some more rivers to rinse again.
I decided to give it a final claying to coat the paintwork and protect it from the elements. Top tip though; don't leave your ariel up when applying the trees.
So that was the exterior.
To the interior;
As the claying had done such a good job of the exterior, I thought I would give the interior the same treatment. (This was not actually intentional but I left the window open at one point - and the dash board looks better for having some mud across it). The one thing I'm not sure of, is how to get the mud out the air vents? Maybe I should post up that question on the car care part of the forum.
I can also offer the advice that while the trees are mostly soft(ish) the heavier branches (and trunks) may be a little bit to harsh for the more delicate detailer.
I was planning to leave it in it's current state - I figured that a mud covering is the best accessory for a 4x4, however, it has been pointed out that the clay / mud / cow sh*t mix has a slight whiff about it.

Some shots from the weekend (none of me in action as I was behind the wheel OR behind the camera!)

Re: landrovers
Looks like fun and something I've quite fancied a go at. I've been to the clog a few times practising my enduro riding on the bike. There's certainly plenty of places to play.

Re: landrovers
A suspension lift and some knobbly tyres on the evo and you'll be laughing! (Or we'll laughing at you)
I will post up the dates of the next events. All are welcome to come along for some paxing / or a wee shottie!

There is one on the 11th & 12th sept at Drumclog. I'm not yet sure if I'd be doing both days, or one of them; I'll keep you posted.
There is an event near Helensburgh on the 8th of August too, that I am planning to get to.
