The Underdog in Time Attack ** Snetterton Results **

Post by BigD » Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:14 pm

I've just signed up for the season of time attack. http://www.timeattack.co.uk Been wanting to do competitive stuff for a while and thought if I don't do it now I might not get the chance again.

Time attack is basically like three (or four if you make the final) qualifying sessions so no wheel to wheel racing as such. I'm sure I'll get some duels though.

I am hugely outclassed in the power stakes so am aiming for middle of the pack, fingers crossed. My car although you lot think it is high power, is probably the lowest of all the entrants. Most are running 500+ bhp. Hopefully some rounds it'll rain and that'll give me a fighting chance.

Round 1 is Donington where I have had a 1.24.8 ish lap in December with bald R888's and damp track off the racing line. Last year club class times started at 1.19 mins and pro was 1.15 mins so quite a few seconds to make up. Any tips on lines etc would be greatfully received. :thumbsup My Donington footage is in the gallery.

I think Motors TV is covering it too. 8)

Yeh, it was Fee's place I was originally going to take at Donington, then I managed to get a full season slot. :D

good lad - and good luck.

I've only raced Donny once but got to follow MArtin Donolly for 5 laps racing - some very different lines.

Ape was going very well there though.

Happy to have a chat and will try and put the Atom on Donnelly's line best I can, although one corner he was off the track with 2 wheels which the Atom wont be doing :D

That would be good Andy as would McApe's input. Not much time though Donington is 5th/6th April and you're down this weekend. Where was he off the track, the Evo likes being off road.

Make sure you get plenty of video so I can watch it back. :D

 I am booked on for the SIDC day in may, but Time Attack is the day after so I'll probably sell my spot TBH. :thumbsup

Hi mate

should be about next week. will try and get hold of mcape and see if he's up for meeting for a beer/chat at some point. He's got more experience of the track also. Will get the cam on board though :thumbsup

Looks like the weather might be gash this weekend, so whether or not the camera is ever facing forwards is very much open for debate

Yep, and also the sponsors Toyo, K-sport etc are doing pretty good deals so probably works out cheaper in the long run than just going and doing trackdays.
