Victor, you have read things abit wrong. if you read the Scottish regulations it says that to be in A8 you have to comply with the blue book regulations for Road-Going Production Cars. Now under that heading I 70 you have (a) Road-Going Series Production Cars & (b) Road-Going Specialist Production Cars. Both are eligable for A8. This was not allways the case though.

Hope this helps.

Thats what I was saying... the 211 will be legal.. Someone said above that it wouldnt be because of the low numbers built..
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Vic,
You've resurected an old thread, things have changed since that discussion was taking place and are about to change again for next year but not in A8 thankfully.

Yep. My interpretation is that a 211 and a 340R are eligible for A8 in 2010 as roadgoing specialist production cars, along with just about every other road car Lotus has ever produced. They would have to change the regs to specifically exclude them to force them into A6 (BTW, I'm not suggesting that should happen).

However, they won't be eligible in the roadgoing production classes for some English speed events because they are specifying classes for road-going series production cars separate from road-going specialist production cars. That could also pose a problem for Exiges. I'm pretty confident that my VX220 is a series production car (I think there were around 7,000 built over 5 years) but I'm still looking for definitive figures.....

Looking forward to next year already :D

2010 dates are out now. they are available on the scottish hill-climb champioship forum. First event is 11th April at Kames followed by 17/18th at Doune.

One non-championship round to get excited about is the Ingleston sprint - this is around whats left of the old grand-prix track. This is on the 1st/2nd May IIRC. Would be a great event for an Elise! More details at Dunfermline Motor Club web-site.

Hopefully see a few of you there this year. Have someone in for an interesting swap that might just be competing better this year.

I'm swapping my steering wheel for a Marshal's flag this season. The buzz in the paddock is just too good to be missed!

Good luck in A8 for next season, Mike. Looks like you could have a good chance of winning the class if it goes to plan. Maybe even get a class record or 2....

I'll be in A1 in a rusty old Metro GTi and I've already booked my accomodation for Fintray and Alford :thumbsup

Will be at one of the Fintray's, Alford but neither of the Boyndies. Will be racking up a few miles on the RRS this year as most are away events. Should be good fun this year being the first full year I will have done.
See you at a few events no doubt :thumbsup .
