:-(

It's a shame that blue car immediately behind you didn't back off a bit sooner, but I guess that's racing - if he had backed off, he would have been caught by those behind him. Kind of hard to do much about the spin if you're being T-boned along the circuit

I take it that's cascades? Rox did something very similar in his Exige years ago, but ended up in the armco, not the tyres, so you were lucky in that respect if no other.

Is the damage bad - I guess it's about 80mph on the exit of that corner in the elise - so could have been quiet a bang!

Cheers,
Robin

Yes, that was Cascades. I remember Rox's incident in 2003, I was there too, that was the last time I was there. That track day was crazy, so many cars crashed and the races on Saturday were no different. The recovery truck was taking them back two at a time. It's a fantastic circuit, my second favourite after Cadwell, but it has teeth!

The damage isn't too bad, the push from the blue car wasn't that hard. I guess my sideways momentum was similar to his forward momentum, his car isn't damaged at all. Mine got a broken exhaust mount and the pax side front wishbones bent from that. Landing in the tyres was quite soft but it was enough to bend the driver's side wishbones and break the track rod. Other than that the car is fine, just scuffs. My welds must be ok :D

The damage isn't the real disappointment, the wishbones needed replaced anyway as the ones I have are "wrong" in that the car is too high at the front. A new mk2 Escort quick rack is a lot cheaper than an Elise one. What's disappointing is that I was racing for 15th, my highest place yet, my first time in the points and I had a shot at highest place novice this year. Out the window now :(

Yes, that sucks too :-( My point about the blue car is that you might have been able to control the spin better had he not had his nose between your wheels :-)

Cheers,
Robin
