I hope he takes the plunge... too soon to be hanging his gloves up.

Re: Coulthard... will he/won't he?
Not so sure - has been a graveyard for ex-F1 drivers in the past... Plus I've not watched a DTM race I thought was entertaining (surely the point of tintop series like these)

1990 Honda VFR400 NC30
2000 Honda VTR1000 SP1

Re: Coulthard... will he/won't he?
No way that Coulthard or any other F1 driver should not be up at the top if they went to saloon car racing. There is no comparison when compared to racing a F1 car.
Any F1 driver could drive in the BTCC or World equivalent, not one saloon car driver could get a place in a F1 team. Completely different when you compare F1 to WRC, Kimi can have a bash but doubt if he will achieve much, the same if Loeb tried F1.

But tut mate,
Mika Hakkinen didn't set the world on fire in DTM, nor did Jean Alesi (always much better than the cars he drove in F1) Touring cars are very different to drive than an F1 car and it's a skill to drive round the limitations a (very loosely related) road car presents, compared to a scalpel designed purely for the task. Some very average F1 drivers have conversely done very well in DTM (struggling, but there are a couple of Germans who were in F1 in the 80s/90s that moved to TCs and Endurance and cleaned up)
