Broke my Doune virginity today. Scary place and I officially am a woose. Best I could manage was 61 secs!
Nevermind, it's the taking part that counts, I suppose.

Hoping I can do a wee bit better tomorrow.

Nice to meet Mac (briefly) and put a face to a name. :D

Kevin,

I thought you were going quite well. My first run was somewhere similar, your time will start to fall as you get more understanding of where the track goes.

I know it's a bit late and you'll be on your way to the event but if you can get one of the old hands to walk the track with you this morning - Any of the guys in Class A6 would be good to walk with - our own Jonathan Neale is racing today again - Green Caterham with clams & yellow nose.

Good luck

Mac

Thanks Mac. I spoke to Jonathan Neale but didn't have time to walk the track

Weather was pretty grim today and I was tiptoeing all the way up. Start line was very slippy and I just haven't got any confidence to carry speed into Garden Gate - that's a real psychological corner that is! I never really got a proper dry run - best time was 62sec on my first timed run. That was well slow. For my last run, I decided to push a bit more and despite the heavier rain, I did 63 sec which was within 1 sec of the TVR on that run. It was definitely my most 'committed' run of the weekend so I was reasonably pleased.

Doune is definitely a place for experience, skill and big balls. Despite lacking all of these, I'll be back for more later in the year.

Good to meet ceejam today and I saw what I assume was Craig Nicol's Exige in the paddock.

Next stop Ingliston 1/2 May.........

Somebody please give me some new tyres........
