Andy's team had to retire at Hour5 with a broken piston, and Scotty's with a six lap lead went out at Hour6 with a knackered bottom end.

Very bad luck, maybe next year they should try the k series engine instead of the Japanese ones!,

We did over 300 laps out of the 519, we were leading by 15 laps when the bottom end went. I had a great time and really did feel like a pro driver. This really is the way to do motorsport.

Real shame for andy and walshy they were going so well. At one point I think they might have been leading as andy managed to do a 1 hour 40 min stint at the start.

Roll on next year, there is even talk of our team doing britcar 24 h.

I think the cost and the money that is being thrown at the top four cars may be too much for Scotty next season. When the playing field was level he came in at number one, but this year he knows the best that he could realistically hope for was fourth.

The 1,000kms race was all funded by the GWS team owner, including all three of the drivers costs, so as Scotty said he felt like a pro driver with all the best equipment.

It was a choker!

When i pitted i was 1st in class, 3rd overall! In the Racing Mule, and had gone far beyond the initial estimate of 12 laps. (thanks Scotty :thumbsup )

Our second driver Mark was going steadily and holding firm - unfortunately for us, our engine wasnt - piston

The biggest choker was I think we would have had a pretty good chance of making the overall podium as we could run for 1hr 40mins with me driving, and Mark was possibly on for a 2 hour stint, and we hadnt even used Walshy! (although with my driving in stint 1 most people thought it was him :damnfunny till they saw him in the pit lane)

He was so delighted with my effort he actually complimented me on my return to the pits

Loved seeing my pitboard with P1 on it though.

Having no expectations, then daring to hope, made it a bitter pill. Still an amazing performance given our results from the dyno last week! :damnfunny

Was gutted for Scotty & crew. Despite the fact their refueling rig was worth more than my car, they were the pick of the race. Bloody yota engines

Hope to be back next year, with a sorted Mule, and Superlight Andy , Mark and Walshy team

Sounds like you had great fun aside from the obvious disappointments. 8)

Enduance racing sounds like something I'd really enjoy. I'm sure my mechanical sympathy would go a long way. What's the costs to enter something like that roughly? Must be value for money tracktime wise. :thumbsup

Never not been able to hack it next morning Iain. 70 years experience from breast to the hard stuff.

Tut Towers was 0630 and I was up at 0830, driving at 0930, which was not clever but nobody told me that I had gone to bed just three hours before.
