Doune hillclimb this weekend

Post by Digital » Sat Jun 22, 2013 10:13 pm

It's the Doune hillclimb event on this weekend, if anyone fancies a bit of motorsport tomorrow. It's a round of the British championship so there are a few of the big single seaters in attendance, which are always spectacular!

The weather today wasn't too great, but hopefully tomorrow will be a bit better! Come and say hello, I'll be the one taking it slowly in the blue Caterham :)

Doune hillclimb this weekend

Hope you have a good day Jamie. I didn't manage to say hello yesterday before I headed back over to Fife.
Knockhill for me today. Over 130 entries and the BMW Compacts and MX5s have separate races from the Sports & Saloons. Should be good to watch especially when the rain showers hit.

A weekend for cool heads and making the best of things . . . I spent most of the weekend battling my demons with Doune in the wet on slicks with a failing clutch to make things interesting . . . drove at 80%, learned a lot, all now permanently recorded in ma heid . . . even so, wagging the tail of the car going up tunnel amongst the trees is a clenching moment . . . no second chances if that gets away from you as at least one found out (chassis job, out for the season probably) . . . still, it dried, and I believed it was dry enough for a max run, you have to believe it's dry enough because any hesitation gives you an impossible game of catch up that you can only lose, conversely if you go into a corner at max and it's not dry, you crash. Anyway, life is short, so balls out mode, forget the dodgy clutch, and the car and track were awesome, new PB, only a couple of tenths, but smoother and much more comfortable . . .
