Starting early :D I'm helping KH / KMSC get a list together of folk that are interested in competing. Its been said several times now that Lotus' (Loti?!) were sorely missed from the Championship last year.

So.... Whos in? If you are interested in competing please drop a quick email to ak@superlapscotland.co.uk or leave your details on here.

Name, car, rough power/weight.

2014 classes will be

Pro: 450+ bhp/tonne
A: 375-450 bhp/tonne
B: 300-375 bhp/tonne
C: 225-300 bhp/tonne
D: 150-225 bhp/tonne
E: <150 bhp/tonne

... based on Wheel HP/Weight (with Driver). Needs to be certified. Test centres and dates will be released in due course.

Run to MSA section S rules, using production, modified production and sports libre classes as a way of entering the championship. I.e. your car needs to meet the regs for 1 of these MSA (S) Classes to pass scruitineering.
Road-Going Series Production = Mass produced unmodified road car (S11)

Road-Going Specialist Production = Limited production unmodified road cars (S11)

Modified Series Production = Mass produced cars which have been modified within the provisions of S.12. These cars must have MSA compliant roll cages and 4-point harnesses.

Modified Specialist Production = Limited produced cars which have been modified within the provisions of S.12. These cars must have MSA compliant roll cages and 4-point harnesses.
All of the above just require a non-race Nat B licence.

Sports Libre = Any other car not complying with the above (e.g. cars with replacement engines and/or high level aerodynamic devices etc.). If over 2000cc or 1428cc with forced induction these cars MUST compete in a road-legal condition (with associated tax/registration/MOT etc.) if the driver wishes to compete on a non-race Nat B licence. Non-road legal Sports Libre cars require the driver to hold either a Speed Nat A Open (8 non-race sprint event signatures) or Race Nat A licence (ARDS course PLUS 6 SIGNATURES). See section S14 of Blue Book.
So to summarise, a driver may compete on a non-race licence (which can be applied for on the day) if their car is either fully road legal or complies with the regulations for Production (S.11) or Modified Cars (S.12). Otherwise they will need a Nat. A licence which will require them to finish a minimum of 6 races or 8 speed events before they can enter SLS.

No mention in Sports Libre for a four point harness and full road cage, so unclear what I would actually need to compete.

Tut,
Sports Libre needs MSA spec cage, if over 2000cc, that has to be a full cage not just a rear.

I'll be at Knockhill on Sunday from about 13:30 if anyone wants a chat about the MSA technical and safety requirements. I understand that the SMRC. Weigh scales will be available as well..
