Autosolo, Sun 19th Jan, Kames

Post by Dominic » Mon Jan 13, 2014 11:32 am

Hi all,

Just a quick heads up - the next autosolo will be taking place at Kames this Sunday. I will post up full details when I get a minute (unless anyone else beats me to it).

Have a look at the thread from November's event to get an idea of what it's all about!

Cheers

Dom

Great fun last time. I didn't intend to play but I was glad I did. I can't make this one as I am away in Vegas for the next month. I expect a class win from you Dom :thumbsup

Might try and trundle over for it, dependent on the previous night's alcohol intake as we have guests...

More info as promised....

The programme of the meeting will be:

Scrutineering will start at 10:30.

Any competitor not signed on by 11:15 may be excluded.

First run starts at 11:30 PROMPT.

The entry fee is £10:00 for juniors and £12.00 for all

others. All entries must be made on the official entry

from and accompanied with the appropriate fee.

Details of how to find Kames; http://www.eastayrshirecc.co.uk/track

Explanation of what it is;

An Autotsolo is similar to an autotest, but is more open, flowing, faster and with no reversing is much more suited to elises / exiges etc. Some have described it as half way between an autotest and a sprint, although, I would not say it would be quite as fast as that. It's a great chance to get out in your car and have some relatively slow speed hooning and drifting, in safe confines for not a lot of money. The cost will be £12, + membership to SSCC (Which is £10) or EACC (Which is £20). I am planning to take part, as the surface at this time of year is usually damp and greasy so does virtually no harm to your tyres.

Don't see it mentioned in regs, does kames dictate long sleeves t-shirts and helmets?
