Yes I noticed nearly every tool we own is out in use just now too!

Another visit to Screwfix for more fixings this morning, then off to Edin bike coop for some new bearings. Oh where will it end!

So over at Team Gravity Calamity it's all getting a bit tight. Meanwhile, back here with Team FMC, it's, er...getting a bit tight!

Good job I've had the last two days off.

Another full on day today. Moving towards coachwork now :-)

Lisa and James have been working on the bat-wings, and my new circular saw has come in handy already.

I've cut a variety of upgraded parts from ply, and hope to assemble most on Weds night. This involves almost entirely dismantling the cart. So that's the first full strip down and rebuild and we haven't even reached the hill yet!

Should do some painting of chassis then too. And hopefully we'll install the bodywork on Weds night too. The kids need to be painting furiously too...

Thursday night for mop up, and Friday night to pack the team truck :-o

It's nothing special, Tony, so don't get too excited. But it rolls, turns and stops. With a 9 yr old driver on board. That's all I set out to achieve. Well, that plus making the chequered flag at least once :-)

We are hoping to display the soapboxes during the day if thats ok with everybody?
Just heard some worrying feedback from another team who have decided to start building tonight.......
Ill keep my own thoughts to myself.... but they intend to butcher an old ride-on lawn mower and use that as their starting point. Ill add at this point that they are all Subaru Owners.
The mind boggles.... Im glad I reinforced my ramps.

Lol.

Assuming no repairs run on after Free Practice 1 on Sat night, then more than happy to put the JDF-001 chassis on show :-)

Display is half the fun so of course. Assume this wouldnt be under cover. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather, not only for a good event but as I think the paint we're using us water soluble and much of the body is cardboard.

Might have to look into borrowing a little gazebo?!

Sadly I can't make the free practice due to other commitments so will be doing an early sprint from Edinburgh in the morning to deliver the cart with the family following later in the day.

Thanks Ferg. Team Calamity will be missed :-(

Safe trip for Sunday morning!

Will do Pete.

Wrote the "tasks to-go" list last night, in true project management stylee. It fits on one side of A5. Can hardly believe it.
