Yes I did - I wonder who that might have been ;-) Cars in front seem to pull over much easier for a loud and colourful car so I was happy to sit behind all the way :)

I have noticed that as the key benefit of using that car for the boring miles.

Your car is probably not bad for people moving out of the way, some people (or maybe just me) first assume it's a undercover cop!

Sometimes - if you can emulate the driving style of a police car :D

Didn't help with that idiot Renault driver in front of me all the way to Dundee. Pulled out in front of me going over Friarton bridge at Perth, and not once did they pull in all the way to Dundee (where they turned right) despite there being long gaps that I pulled into (maybe 1 - 2 minutes at a time). Slowed down to 60ish when passing traffic, the sped up when there was a gap on the inside, but never once pulled over.

Best of luck guys [THUMBS UP SIGN] after several years of time attack in various subarachnoid, I entered last year in my s1 ( donkey) I decided to enter 2 days before the 1st round. It's s great championship, less glamour than TA but a hell of a lot less traveling.

It wS a big culture shock, coming from driving someone else's car and having a team to do everything for you to just turning up to an event on my own.....in a car than needed a lot of work. Luckily, Andrew Baird from Automek was at most events to keep the donkey running and I managed to win the championship and hold the record clockwise of 1:0.1 in class F with 110 whp

The biggest challenge in the Elise was getting enough heat in the rears with 1 out lap for the single hot lap in the final.

It was a really cheap season of motorsport as I did the season on 1 set of tyres and 1 tank of fuel lasted me 2 days. I also spent £0 on mechanical improvements to the car.

I'll probably do a single round entry when I get the suspension refurbed as I want to go sub minute

EFA ;-)

I'm still astonished at the lap record, amazing effort. :thumbsup

Anyone got any recommendations on lap timers? Was thinking about things I could do to the car, but probably just knowing whether each lap was better or worse would help way more, the driver being the weak point! ;)

Not sure if the MyLaps phone app, which claims to give "live" timing based on the actual transponder results is up to it. No way of testing outside of a round! Did have a go with the TrackAttack app, but that didn't work.

I downloaded the App "Harrys LapTimer" Bobby but not had chance to try it yet. If you are not bothered about linking up to a vid cam download the basic version at £8.50.

I think quite a few of the guys use it that do not want to fork out for a Pro set up.

Thanks Tut, might have a look at that. Problem with TrackAttack was that it couldn't get a GPS lock up at Knockhill, so suspect that'd be the same whatever app. Will experiment!

Harry's laptimer seems to work for most of us at Knockhill. I'm not sure how accurate it is though.

I think it's the most accurate thing in the world but Mike Scib may disagree ;-)

Ah, helps if you give the app permission to use the GPS! :) In my defence, was set to "while using" in the permissions, but just tried switching it to "always" and instantly got a lock.

Good job I don't work with software for a living... Ahem.

Well, darn sight quicker that me! ;)

Round 1 I narrowly escaped being last, just a touch quicker than my rival for not-last, the Lexus in class D1. Round 2, he had close to a second on me. Must admit I hoped to do better in the dry and normal track direction.

Oh well, at least I was getting quicker through the day and had my fastest lap in the final!

Any vids Bobby?

I think Jean-Luc went about 3sec faster than he'd been before, so a pretty good performance from him.

Unfortunately not! Might try and borrow a GoPro for next time!

Yes, Jean-Luc stepped it up! Out of the road cars in D, the two of us are most closely matched; neither of us I think stand much chance of catching Alex in the TTRS or Marc in the Focus, who seem way ahead. But we can try... ;)
