Do you want to summarise for me?
Re: New F1 engine regs for 2021
Just since it's you...
FIA & F1 Group propose simplified engine spec for 2021. No heat recovery from turbo. To attract more engine builders into sport.
Mercedes and Renault complain it will actually cost more.
Ferrari moan that it's their ball and they're taking it home. And might not play any more.

Re: New F1 engine regs for 2021
Renault and Honda have barely got the current engines working, so I understand why they don't want to bin the zillions dollars investment by starting with a clean sheet again. either keep what we have or go back to n/a V10s and to hell with all the PC environmental crap. F1 was far better without the manufacturers. e.g. 1980s, Tyrell Lotus Williams Benetton McLaren etc .... Nowadays it is all about who can afford to pay 1500 staff and spend hundred gazillion bit dollars .
Re: New F1 engine regs for 2021
Fair analysis!
I think some road car technology link up is more important than ever though - world has moved on etc - but the fact that F1 TV backing tracks still feature V8 or V10 noises tells you all you need to know...
A slight simplification of the engine architecture doesn't need gazillions spent. I think it's sabre rattling because the manufacturers fear new entrants and greater competition.
