Ali

Great news, but judging by the fact that I'm on page 4 I think I'll be way down your list

Keep us up to speed with developments.....(location, phone, etc)

Big question - when you getting the blond receptionist ?

Phil (you did my Xenons, front disks/pads, throttle cable and oil change in March - ouch that cost me....)

Interesting...

My car will be due a service shortly, I had originally been planning on taking it to Falkland in Glenrothes (I'm taking it there tomorrow to get my brakes done) but somewhere closer would be ideal! Guessing I might be back of the queue though

How interestingly timed, just when independents employing "minimum wage fitters" were getting slammed on SE Dinosaurs.

Ali - all the very best with this. I guess you know your stuff, you have the trust of many here it seems, but stick in when the going gets tough...you need to build quite a customer base to make a living out of a new garage venture and there are only so many Lotuses in East Central Scotland to go around ;-)

Not too sure what that means; people use independents as they are cheaper than main dealers, yet what someone gets paid is linked to the standard of job?

I agree there can be a link.

Anyway someone knowledgeable in such things can explain better I guess.

I take it that's you :D

Good luck!

Edinburgh you say. Surely it would be better to get premises on the west coast? Near me? Be far more convenient you know (for me).
Livingston's a good compromise, maybe even right next to Stu? That'd be handy :D

Ali,
Thanks for sorting the car so quickly this morning.
By the count of the responses looks like you could have an east and west garage before long :thumbsup
Best of luck, I'm sure it will go well.

Morning Guys

Had a mare with the internet last night - typical!

Anyway, thanks so much for all your support, it is truely appreciated.

Here's the servicing prices;

A Service - £160

B Service - £230

C Service - £450
C service VVC - £470

I can also service those type 116 cars, and I have no Vauxhall bias, despite having a Vectra as my daily runner

I can take bookings immediately so let me know if I can help.

Happy to talk through issues or goals you may have for the car and how we can achieve them.

Keen also to use and stock a wide range of parts to cater for all budgets - from the Pagid eating machines to the standard spec cars.

Really appreciate all the support though - very much appreciated and making a move that took a fair bit of thinking a lot easier.

I can also service non Loti should you ned it

Thanks SE'ers, and see some of you at SIDC on the 28th as I'll be up with Andy G and the RLC - its bound to keep me busy

Ali

Interesting interpretation of the quote Campbell, I read it as protecting one's sister from dealer profits and not the independents who seldom have more than one fitter anyway.

Bookings are starting to come in - I'm doing evenings and weekends till i leave MMC.

Thanks to all those that have booked in already!

Ed - still laughing that you didn't notice we'd washed your car! Andy was evening scrubbing the wheels on it for you, muttering about the shambles of a state you'd brought the car to me in :D :D :D :D Enjoy it mate, and try and keep it in a straight line till your Nitrons return.
