for the 1st time ever.
Just realised today that the pc in the corner of my little office has been connected to the interweb thingy sometime recently whilst I have been on hols.
I think there might be a downturn in my productivity for a while

Set it up for incoming Remote Desktop, then you can do it from your seat.
What operating system is on it? Very easy to do.

And also get you the sack if it is against company policy. Not something you want to do without understanding what controls the Company want on their data network.

No it has not eased up and I don't think that it will. We are in the middle of redundancies across all our UK offices just now and I am sure lots more to come.

Hope all's ok for you. Never had the threat of redundancy, must be unnerving.

That was the great thing about my job, you had no worries about being made redundant.
Dead maybe, but not jobless.

Last i heard they'd decided to do away with all contract and agency staff

But this came from operations (gf and mates still work in marketing / complaints / billing) so not sure how this has been rolled out to SAIC etc.
Apparently SP spent more on IT last year than Ibedrolla (sp?) have in the past 10 years
