If they haven't kept it nice and clean I want to hear about it. Otherwise, hope it goes well!

I owned the car for about 2 years and it never let me down once :D .

I sold it to Fraser earlier this year as I had put in an order for a new Elise S. While I owned it, I think it got treated rather more gently than when Robin had it (I was too scared to take it on the track). It didn't even get much weekday use either (mainly just the odd blast up to Perth at weekends and a couple of holidays round Scotland). Never had a single bump or scrape.

I had 4 new Yoko tyres fitted about a year ago and also a new stereo, but otherwise was standard spec. I had bought it from MMC and had it serviced and MOT'd by them.

The trade in Graeme offered was quite low (hence the reason for selling it privately) mainly because of some bubbling on the paintwork, but other than this I couldn't fault it.

If you want more info, just let me know.

Sounds like we've got a pretty clear view of this wee scone's history then...you sure won't get THAT from a service book or a pile of receipts

:-)

What I have always really admired about owners like Robin, Fergus, Kelvin - and many others, before anyone gets offended * - is that their cars are *brilliantly* maintained, usually by themselves, even if they don't sport the cleanest or purest bodywork ;-)

* - people like Lawrence maintain their cars and also do wash them occasionally too, or at least get the Apprentice to do it...

It's the attention to regular and also preventive maintenance that keeps the value in an Elise, IMHO. As I mentioned before, the bodywork is, er, a consumable!

Bless your heart Shug, I cannot recall a time when your poor wee steed didn't have some trouble or other which put her off the road!!

EDIT: Except maybe before it got modded

As I say to everyone who will listen - it's not a car, it's a process.
