*Urgent advice needed* 3 tyres slashed, what do I do!?

Post by Corranga » Wed Oct 17, 2007 5:00 pm

Just got home to find my S1 sitting on 3 slashed tyres, which begs the question, what on earth do I do with it.

I called my mechanic friend who says to take off 1 or 2 and leave the car on axle stands or something like that, but i'm not too confident about that idea.

There is 1 small mercy, I do have 4 new proxes sitting in my house, but now no way to get them on the car?!

Does anyone know or a Lotus friendly mobile tyre fitting service in Dundee?

So much for my get the tyres changed when I put my wheels in for refurb idea.

If I see anyone with a knife around here, I won't be held responsible for my actions...

Feeling a little :puke now too :(

That's really crap news. My ex had all her tyres slashed once (no it wasn't me). I would worry that they would come back once you have them all fixed.

Find a quick fit which is open and do them one at a time this evening. PIA but you would get it sorted ASAP.

Assumes that you have access to another car of course.

If you have a pal who owes you a favour get him to take them round 2 at a time and watch the car while he is away.

Just thoughts.

thats really crap - why would anyone do that? do you think its someone you know or just some dumb random?

someone put a screw into the side of my bro's tyre once........ cant remember if he got it fixed or replaced....

can you not take the wheels off one at a time and get the tyres put on from local garage?

That sucks!

Have you got AA cover? Flatbed to a garage might be quickest

No AA cover either, things aren't going my way :(

I think i'm probably gonna have to jack it, take them off 1 or 2 at a time, leaving the car on axle stands or so, problem is, i've never put a car on axle stands and i'm not too confident on jacking the Elise either.

Well, MANY thanks to Ronnie at wheelsaround who has just fitted my tyres for me, life saver and all on this chilly night!

I've moved the car (gently and without braking - see my Green Stuff on MMC discs thread in technical :() to somewhere safer where it'll stay until I get some MMC pads...

What a day!

Thanks for all advice and offers of help!
