Fuel petition

Post by Scottynic » Thu Nov 22, 2007 3:48 pm

hope its not a dp but got this email this morning.

I have signed it and agree something needs to be done.

Fuel duty petition.

Fuel duty now accounts for 50.35p in every litre. on top of this is the actual production and costs of the product and then on top is 14p of VAT. Public transport will never be adequate to provide for all journeys that need to be made. Please reduce the amount of this duty as it is penalising working Britain! it does not encourage industry and will not encourage people to use their vehicles less. Using a car is now considered essential for most people especially those who do not live in cities. This tax is purely a source of funding for the government and does not represent the true cost of transport. On top of this each car must have a road tax, yet again another source of government funding.

The anti road charging petition made a small impact, maybe this will to. Please sign and pass onto every petrolhead or motorist you know.

Just signed it, having just paid over £80 to fill up with diesel this morning, robbing barstewards!!!

What happened to the Road hauliers association who promised that if the price went above £1 per litre they would start road blocks again???

I notice that the deadline for the petition is 1st April 2008 April bl**dy fools day!!

I'm sure there is another roadblock/convoy/go slow planned (or being talked about)
I have no signature.
