End of F1?

F1 to freeze engine development clicky.

Errrm what? OK then, stop developing the cars, that makes sense...

Old news really - it has been on the cards for a while, its just that the FIA have ratified it. I have mixed feeeling about it. While F1 has always been the pinnacle of motorsport technology, in recent years all that technology has got in the way of decent racing, and F1 technology has become less and less relevant to road cars. The standard ECU/traction control ban for next year is a major step in the right direction, but I would like to see a return to fat slicks, at least 50% reduction in downforce, steel brakes, and manual gearshifts. Pretty much like a US Champ car in fact. Less techy appeal but vastly better racing, and as I have said before, it would really sort out the Masas from the Kimis :)

They could have signed me, I would have done it for a mere 20 million.
