Be Careful
Two local S1 Elises have been written of in north Fife in the last few months. Niall from newport had a argument with a dyke with his Silver Elise, at Strathtkinnes. And Dakers Flemming lost control of his yellow S1, on a very slight bend. Causing his car to end up in a ditch, removing the side of the car. So lets be careful guys.

Nail was fine, but Dakers says he was a little ill after due to the shock. Dakers car i believe is sat in a salvage yard in Denny. Both clams are damaged on the left hand side. It also has suspension damage, due to the front wheel digging into the ditch as it travelled along. Daker told me that he is finished with Lotus now, due to the frightning experience, and is also going to sell his Elan Sprint, that he has had for 25 years.
As for Nail. He hopes one day to be able to afford a Exige, and hopes to put his claim money towards that.

Dakers update
Just picked this thread up, browsing for something else.
I am fine now, but suffered quite a bit of bruising and a painful sternum for a few weeks. The near side tyre blew out and on a narrow unclassified road the car only had to move six inches before being hooked into a ditch. Alasdair McNellan who owns quite a few cars including a superb Lotus Elite (the all glassfibre Coventry Climax engined one) remarked as we came to a halt "How did that happen?" My ego was intact.
The car travelled along the ditch for some sixty metres before coming to a halt. Both clams were very badly damaged and the suspension on both ends was also rumpled. Sundry other panel damage and broken bits including a fractured wheel. The car was written off at 8 years old and with 67500 miles on the clock.javascript:emoticon(':(')
Haggis Catcher told me it was sold on Ebay and I wish who bought it the best of luck with it. I really enjoyed the car, miss it still, but there is no way that I wanted it repaired. It would not have been the same.
I still have the Elan Sprint which I do intend to keep and run.javascript:emoticon(':D')
I still have my Porsche Boxtser S which has now done 73000 miles and it still feels very much like a new one. Porsche quality and engineering is in a completely different class from Lotus, which is a shame for Lotus and should not be the case.
The Boxster is far quicker, has more grip and handles just as well. Bits don't break, corrode and fall off. Leather upholstery wears well instead of through.javascript:emoticon(':P')
