I can't believe how many of you use cheap sponges on your beautiful Lotus flanks. All this does is trap grit and scour the paintwork like a brillo pad.

You really must invest in a lambswool wash mitt.

OK you look like a twat when using it but it makes a big difference to the condition of your paintwork ie little or no swirl marks left on the paint. It's money well spent IMHO.

Don't wash any car in the afternoon/evening at this time of year, the door seals will freeze up and you won't get back in the next morning.... :?

I avoid this by not washing my cars between November and March :wink:

It rains throughout most of those months, so cleaning isn't an issue.
