Exige rear view mirrors

Post by Chas » Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:44 pm

lol,
Am i the only person who wants to take the rear view mirror off.
It serves no purpose and actually hinders the front view.
Anyone else feel the same?
Now i gotta work out how to remove without breaking........

I found it fairly useful at night in the S2 , your best bet would be to swap it out with a smaller one - try eliseparts or go to a breakers. Some folk use daewoo matiz ones.

You should try an s1 exige if you think the s2 one is useless, all I can see is nothing

I prefer having it on, you get used to the restricted view quite quickly. I think its far safer keeping the mirror on.

When I first got the car I couldn't see anything out the back but after a while you get used to it. I have thought about getting on of the smaller ones tho

I think the newer Exiges use a smaller one, as mine definitely looks smaller than the one I had in my (2005) Elise. I think it is actually quite useful, especially at night. I don't think the visibility is as bad as some people say - I can see plenty out of the back of the car with the rear view mirror, but I do use my wing mirrors a lot too.

.. although this is all dependent on your height i feel.... im 5'7.

Ive put a massive matt black sunstrip on too cos being so low i just get too much light hitting my eyes.

Unfortunetly having said all that, the last owner pulled the rear view off and i cant get it back on...!! Although its amazing how you adapt.

Thinking about putting caravan style supplementary convex mirrors on mine....just in that wee area where all you normally see are the gorgeous hips at the rear ....

Therear view mirror is totally useless on the Exige S. Has anyone solved the problem?
