When is the cambelt due to be changed on a 111s?

Post by Andy » Sun Dec 30, 2007 9:12 pm

Having taken a deposit for my Monaro this morning I'm now on the hunt for a cut-price S2 Elise :)

Can anyone tell me the service schedule for a 111s? When is the cambelt due to be changed?

Cheers

My wee booklet says it's 54000 miles or 6 years after purchase at the C service if hasn't reached this mileage.

Speak to Murray Lotus, apparently 36K is what Lotus now recommend on all Rover engined cars. Might be sales patter but it has saved me a load of sheckles latter on. :D

Will be calling Lotus tomorrow anyway as part of researching my sticky tyres thread so can check this too. I have only done 14k miles anyway just now, so the timeline rather than mileage is more relevant to me. will see what they say or Ali may post his thoughts up here.

Yep - deffo reduced from the book estimates to 4 years. Quite a lot of correspondance about this in the past.

Called the after sales technical section at Lotus Group last week and as thought, it has been reduced to 4 years. Mileage limit hasn't been reduced though - it is still 54,000. Guess some people might just be tying the 4 years into the 9k service intervals.

Can have its uses at times this forum  . Having only been on this for 6 months I had no idea about the time reduction and would have been oblivious to this. Also went seaching after talking to Lotus and found this old thread from a year ago which discusses the time reduction - also doesn't mention anything about a mileage reduction.
