cycling (NLC)

Post by pete » Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:23 am

So this morning for the first time in months it wasn't raining so I decide to cycle Millie to nursery, with her in the the kids trailer we have for the bike.

My legs hurt, I want a fag, she is heavier than I remember (I thiunk she has been eating since last I had to tow her last year, but I'm doing my best, head down aware that there i an M3 trying to get past as I turn right into a housing estate, hit a patch of ice and wipe out skidding across the road on my arse.

"Daddy why did you fall off?"
"Maybe you should slow down..."

Did the same 5 minutes later turning into her school, in front of a few hundred howling kids...

Kilmarnock was like an ice rink this morning I don't think East Ayrshire council had any gritters out last night, also saw 2 cars in ditches on the way to work (strange to see when it's not your car  ) and 1 of the young apprentices stuck his in a hedge, when asked what happened he said "the car just slid off the road" what speed ? "50mph I always do 50mph and it's never happened before", was it ever icy before ? "No" look of enlightenment falls over his face as he walks away
