NLC: best sat nav

Post by EliseR » Wed Jan 30, 2008 2:09 pm

Our Tom Tom has bitten the dust I think. Takes about 4 hours to turn on once plugged into the car, and then a further ten to fifteen min to get a valid GPS signal. It might be a charging problem, however if not, what would people buy?

Looking for decent screen size, and super user friendlyness. Something that will allow us to plot an accurate route in the least amount of hands on time and steps.

Any suggestions?

Gary.
PS - any with built in "parking sensors / garage door openers" ;) ?

I got my wife a Navman S70. It's pretty good and simple to use - massive widescreen display, maps for Europe and built-in Bluetooth (for hands free phoning) and you can hear the (bloody loud) speaker in the Elise...

Navman S50 is the same but only has UK maps. Cost is around £150 for S70 and £130 for S50.

And, yes, it has camera warnings as well (speed, mobile and traffic light)
