north shore (mountain biking)

Post by Scotty C » Wed Jan 30, 2008 6:03 pm

Some of you will know (back in the late 80's early 90's) I used to race mountain bikes.

I never used to do anything like this but then again our bikes would have just snapped in half (they often did anyway).

No wonder i gave it up? Totally mad

Mad men  8)

Ridden a few hard courses but nothing quite like that

Some of my favorites

Pleney down hill
MASSIVE braking braking bumps and pretty steep, the part where the scream comes in the song and the small gathering give you some idea

Fort Bill
My favorite, so fast and rough 8)

Shed jump-Let Gets
A nice little tester, easy once you do it once but that first time looking of the jump straight at the sky

A few more good vids on mtbvideos

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

I did some racing in the states back in 1992. I did a couple of the world cup events. Vail & Durango. If your going to go to the states you must do Moab (slick rock) It’s a magical place.

I also raced at the world championship in 1991 (Italy). Back then only 6 people were selected to represent each country and additional 50 people total could pre qualify. I finished 33 and made the final. I have some great photo's of me mis-landing a 20ft drop off (I even made Mountain Bike Action) doing a full somersault and landing on my head. (I have not been the same since).

I will try and look out some old photo's and post them up.
