It shouldn't be. Blown K is a well known car that comes up for sale a few times a year in different disguises, I remember driving the original, but it has never been a scam.

A bit like the original N1 TUT in its various guises, ending up as "Satan"

Can not help thinking that the number of times that car has ended up on fire, the first time in '99 when I had it and Ricky had just done the first upgrade (nothing to do with him), it was rather an unfortunate naming for the poor girl.

Somebody just told me that it had gone up in flames again.

Awww, was shaping up to be another quality thread. Did Randy &/or Scuffers give reply to the gut selling BlownK?

Yeah - the guy selling it just started going absolutely manic at them, then the o/p realised he'd opened a can of worms and deleted the thread.

For those of you that didn't know - the car with the 44 page DIY honda insltallation thread was actually BLOWNK - I certainly dind't know that!

Yes it was the original BlownK that started life with MotorBuild as a TT conversion, and was raced by Darren. I have been following the thread since it started. All went well to start with, then Scuffers, Randy, Johnboy, Joe Mc, DVA, and of course KingDick, came in on the scene.

He used the Sun/EvoGT kit, and went through the whole process with photos and detailed descriptions, and was a knowledgeable bloke and a good writer, but over optimistic. Unfortunately the outcome was not good, the engine was a bad one, parts of the kit were not upto the job especially the engine mounts, and it all turned sour.

Then Evo-GT went out of business, so David was going to buy the rights to take over the kit from Evo with the blessing of Sun, and sell it himself, but all that turned sour as well with lots of name calling.

I never posted, but it made an interesting read from the technical side, and much entertainment from everybody slagging each other.

Biggest laugh is that Craig did it all in the background without the fanfare, plus S/C, with a great result. And he made or had copied from mine, most of the kit himself. He did use part of the loom and electronics from Evo-GT, but he had a good relationship with them.

I read the original thread with great interest and supported david whilst he was at it. i was, however, very disappointed that he didn't seem to tell the whole truth about the problems with the engine mounts in the Sun kit, nor the subframe issues. It seemed to me that these issues had not been brought to the fore so that the Sun kit could be seen as a viable alternative to the others out there, and the whole truth only came out after the 'distrubution rights' or whatever issue it was soiled david's relationship wth Sun or their importers.

Shame.
