checking out the competition...

Post by offshorematt » Wed Jul 27, 2005 8:38 pm

No, not a VX, went out for a spin in my mate's E46 M3 yesterday. Holy f***! Initially wasn't too impressed, too many gadgets and electric everything. Then we hit the A96 and booted it. It's funny - there was absolutely no feeling of speed but when I looked at the speedo we were dropping down from a ton twenty five...

To be honest I wouldn't last a week if I bought one. He's even set his scamera detector to beep when he exceeds 95 in case he doesn't notice... Think I'll stick to the Lotus - not as rapid but at least you KNOW when you're speeding.

Oh, and if anyone's wondering, all the above are, of course, in KMPH

Funny that, I did the same on Friday.
I went out for a spin with a mate of mine on Friday in his M5 - I felt kind of the same - at mad (derestricted M5) 3 figure speeds, its so quiet and still accelerates so hard, its addictive.

The roar with the windows down was neat though!
