We took the piss out of them because of the VX's? I always thought we took the piss out of them because they were a pair of gimps

Nice car mate :thumbsup

Well done, hope you enjoy the tubby as much as we are our NA. Not sure if Shug's brake issue is with the ABS, and I'm not sure if the turbo is better than the NA, but my ABS is rather brutal and kicks in when I don't feel like it is necessary (or particularly helpful). There's lots of discussion of this on vx220.org. Hope to see you around. Oh and, "never mind the heritage".

Thanks again guys. :)

Can't say i've experienced the ABS kicking in yet, but only just getting used to the car. ;) Sooooo want a Larini on it.

I think the turbo run-on is improved by remapping, at least it was on Europas.

Finally - a newbie with taste :cheers

Let me know if you need any vx specific advice, i'm pretty sure you've already popped up on 116 and .org though :thumbsup

Air con wasn't an option on the VX turbo but central locking was - along with a touring pack (carpets  ), hardtop and drilled discs. Oh and i think they were trying to flog that crap blaupunkt sat nav system at one point

EDIT : Get a 3/4 sized front plate and turn the ABS* off if you go near a track :thumbsup

Issue I had with the brakes was the numbness/over-servoing - it was an old mates car and although I nearly made him throw up in his own pax , I wasn't pushing it hard enough to require proper braking effort ;)

Coming from a 'normal' car, it'd be less of an issue than coming out of an S1 though.

Reckon I noticed that on the Arnold Shark website (was in Glasgow?) and I remember thinking it was a fairly good price, but way over budget for my gf who is looking at VX N/As at the moment, though she has to rid herself of her mx5 first.

Great to have another vx'er on here, she'll feel more at home when she finally gets on and signs up

Need to wait a couple of weeks for the 'new car' feeling to die down before the skip chat begins... Plus, he bought the one worth having (it's got the power to differentiate it, hasn't it)

/awaits 3 page essay on how the NA is the better car, ignoring that there are lighter, better handling cars with a better badge for similar money now

Funnily enough, spoke to Graham at Lotus earlier and he mentioned this. Seems a few of the VX guys have had a remap which DID help the problem, but we're investigating a bit through Vauxhall ATM, to see if there was a recall/reflash at all on them.

Cheers for the advice Lazydonkey, though we're rather "friendly" with the local constabulary, so i'm not sure the No. plate would go down well? :D

Thanks Ken. Apart from the usual stone chips, it really IS in good condition. 8) Gonna try and source a second set of wheels with some sticky tyres on them and then we can hopefully take part.

Brakes defo feel fine. Gave it more stick over the w/end, but maybe only gets bad at TD's?

Corranga, that was the very one. :D Tis defo rather above the prices of the N/A's but from what i hear, not really worth the extra money? Spose it depends on what your used to.....me? I still need more power. :p ;)

Ohhhhhhhh how i love the banter. ;) :D
