Depressing start to the world cup campaign (NLC)

Post by scott_e » Sat Sep 06, 2008 8:54 pm

Depressing start to the world cup campaign. Ref's letting us down again, should have been a penalty when McFadden was tripped. Thought most players did well in the second half bar McManus. Bottom of the group :( not a fun day.

Difficult conditions
Bad ref
Not enough Rangers players in the squad (I think it should be an all old firm Scotland team apart from Hutton and Fletcher)

That's us out the World Cup already. :!:

Shower of diving, play acting, nancy boys. Don't mind losing to a good team but it always grates losing to cheating scum.
Far from convinced by Burley so far, hoping that he improves, the first half was shades of Vogts the way we were so disorganised.
He got it right in the second have throwing on strikers and playing more attacking football but by then it was too late.

A must win game in Iceland now and I am not very optimistic about our chances.

it's all very well to blame a few bad decisions from the ref but the truth of the matter is that we were not good enough.
i can barely remember a save their keeper had to make (a shot from Maloney...not much more) but Gordon had to pull off at least half a dozen...

don't get me wrong - i fcuking hate the diving and cheating but we should still be good enough to win a game like that without having to rely on a penalty decision...

let's hope the Iceland game is better!

Must not overlook that England managed to beat Andorra (who?), a bunch of part timers from a Country with a population of 67.

The diving was blatant ! its so annoying. Video evidence is surly the way to go ... works for Rugby. Agreed we need 3 pts on Wednesday otherwise its all over. At least Norway Iceland got a draw.
