Re: F1
What happened to Glock that made him go so slow??? Looked like he handed the championship to Lewis???

Re: F1
Well done Lewis! He won the championship despite the FIAs best attempts to stop him. He drove a very mature race, he knew that he only needed 5th for the championship and went out there and got it, they knew Glock would struggle with rain on dry tyres in the last lap. I think Massa dealt with it all very well and despite the fact I dont like ferrari I do feel slightly sorry for him but the best man won in the end. We have had some great races this year, unfortunatly some were ruined by the FIA and there stupid penalties, roll on next year and I will be keeping my fingers crossed for some good racing with the rule changes and hope for less interfering by the stewards.

Re: F1
Great climax to a season which I found myself not caring about in the last few races. Wasn't fussed whether Massa or Hamilton won the championship as neither of them are drivers I really have any passion for... but somehow I still found myself shouting at the telly ??
Here's hoping the rule changes are enough to bring the likes of Vettel & Alonso in to the frame right from the start of the next season...

Re: F1
Watch Glock after Lewis has passed him: he has what would be described on a bike as a tankslapper.
I believe he genuinely had no grip: the thing was all over the place through the last two corners and he was five seconds down over the line.
Di Resta: even though he's Scottish I'm not a fan I'm afraid.

Re: F1
I was at work and listened to it on the radio (which I've never done before). Was an amazing race from where I was. I don't remember F1 being that tense for years....
Rain at the start, rain at the end. I was terrified when Hamilton came in at the end it would dry off a bit and Massa and others would try and stay out, dropping Hamilton out of it. Then Hamilton lost it and let Vettel past, tense last lap, crowd went wild, Massa's champion.. Then 15secs later, last corner, Hamilton passes Glock for 5th and is champion....
Whoever you support in F1, and whatever you think of the way it turned out, to me that was a bloody good race (albeit I only listened and didn't see pictures). Took me back to when I watched in the early/mid 90s, and every other Sunday was glued to the TV watching proper tense stuff..
Got to be good for F1 in general. Just hope it carries on into next season......

I think this is pretty telling though.....
These are the last 3 lap times for the Toyotas
Timo Glock
69 1:18.688
70 1:28.041
71 1:44.731
Jarno Trulli
69 1:22.428
70 1:33.539
71 1:44.800
Looks like they were both slowing .....due to lack of grip?

Do you think this will get shown on the BBC HD channel ?Digital wrote:
Now we get to look forward to BBC's ideas of F1 coverage, some of which sound superb, plus no more advert breaks
if so, this will be amazing.

Was about to post the same thing. Slick tyres don't work in the wet, surprised so many are having a hard time grasping this conceptH8OAG wrote:These are the last 3 lap times for the Toyotas

If slicks had been the best option none of them would have bothered with an extra pit stop to change to inters.

Re: F1
I agree and if Glock had pitted before the last lap the finish would not have been at all exciting!! Glock definitely did not gift Hamilton the Championship, he was sliding all over the last lap.LittleMorvy wrote:kenny wrote:Was about to post the same thing. Re: F1
It really was a hollywood finish - stunning race and I was rooting for Hamilton and glad he clinched the title at the last minute!
In a day where most sporting 'heroes' are chav, footballing, bling-bling wankers Hamilton is refreshingly likeable, down-to-earth guy and I don't think anyone can deny he's a great driver.
