Buying my first lotus

Post by marty bhoy » Sun Apr 05, 2009 1:39 pm

I have been considerring this for some time now and would like to know a little more on lotus ownership before getting one.

First of all i am interested in an elise s2, could you guys please help me, I want to know what is a relatively cheap price for a good one? What are the typical servicing costs? and as I am into adding my own personal touch to cars where is a good place to buy aftermarker performance/styling parts?

even a little help would be fantastic i really do think its gonna happen in the next couple months!

Thanks guys!

Hello Marty.

Firstly for a cheap price it all depends on what type of S2 you're interested in as you could have the standard one an S or an R or you could go for one of the special editions so first you need to either decide on a budget or the model you're after.

as for after market stuff theres a few places

http://www.eliseparts.com/

http://www.elise-shop.com/

plus no doubt some others.

Servicing costs will depend I suppose on whether you take it to a (the) main dealer a specialist or do it yourself but for what they are they are pretty cheap to run.

I would recommend a S2 135R. It was a limited edition by lotus, and is one of the most track focussed cars they have ever built, whilst still being an absolute hoot on the daily drive, if that's your thing.

I happen to know of one for sale if that interests you
