That was a good wee run. Its been a while for me, but it all started to come back. I had my mate Paul with me as a pax, who managed to get some photos. Me and Craig had a nice run out to aberfoyle, then decided to go out to inversnaid/stronachlacher. I had never been this road, but saw it on the BBC program of britains best drives. TBH. its far too narrow, far too many blind crests, and FAR too many potholes. We went most of the way along anyway, until we caught a bus, and decided to just bail out then. Paul did reckon the scenery was fantastic, but i literally couldnt take my eyes off the road for even a second. Wont be doing it again.
Dukes pass was as good as always, although it could do with a few repairs in quite a few places. Remarkably free of traffic. In fact, dont think anybody got in my way, and only about 5 cars came the other way. Very nice.
Would have been a nice run up the side of loch lubnaig, if it werent for the horse box doing 30 mph, and the 4 cars behind who had no intention of overtaking, but god dammit,t hey werent for letting any elises filter. At this point, kevin and pete joined us in the queue on the way to the rendezvous with Fergus. Eventually i nailed the 4 cars, then the horsebox, more as a statement of annoyance than anything
Met up with FD, and had a brisk run along the north side of Loch Tay. The last 5-10 miles before you get to aberfoyle are excellent, very flowing, hardly needing to touch the brakes.
Stopped in Aberfeldy to let the misdirected Craig catch up

, then had a brilliant blast from aberfeldy down to crieff. Stopped for chips (excellent) then a quick run out to comrie, then the back road out over the moor twards braco. FD took a different turning to what i expected, but i dutifully followed. The first part was your typical dusty farm track, and i wouldnt recommend trying to follow someone on it, cough cough cough. Then we got onto the A823 glendevon road, and had a good run at that, with next to no traffic. Split up at Yetts of muckart, and i headed all the way down the 823 past knockhill and into dunfermline, dropped paul off at kincardine, then home via the petrol station. 230 miles of fast driving at 30mpg. Credit crunch tastic
