Andy - finally met up with the new owner of the RLC - still going strong, though he retired (from ~3rd in class, I think) in the first race due to wheel bearing failure - same old, same old.
James Knight nearly managed the double 1st in class at the weekend, but lost out to Stuart Kirkbride on the second last lap of the first race, though kept it together in the second race to win the class. I know Stuart in passing having met him on a few LOT track days - top bloke and a very committed driver too - so good to see him getting some results. The main pack of class A remains very tight with them all running line a stern on the straights and three abreast in the braking zones

There's a long tail behind them, mostly running by themselves it seems - cannot be that much fun to be at the back of class A - lonely until the leaders lap you
The modified class racing is a bit more compact with all sorts of runners - some faster in a straight line, some quicker in the corners, some better on the brakes - this leads to some quite exciting racing
Scotty was quite simply epic. In the first race he started ahead of the rest of 211's but lost out to Gav early on - luckily for Scotty, Gav overcooked the entrance to woodcote or whatever the last corner complex is called and Scotty dodged Gav's spinning 211 and took the class lead, never looking back. He kept very cool when put under extreme pressure by some of the modified class drivers, including a wee kiss from one of them trying to make space on the inside where there was none!
In the second race, the commentator at beckett's (third corner, half way around the lap) was getting orgasmic as Scotty closed up car lengths under braking (this is the same place that Andy pulled similar stunt in the handicap race two years ago). He gave as good as he got, trading places and punches with the modified class drivers.
It's important not to get carried away though! The main thing for Scotty is to get the signatures he needs to race in Europe. Results are nice, but finishes are vital!!
Cheers,
Robin
