Mick,
there is an ever expanding east coast contingent getting out and about at weekends, and going to start doing a few after work runs.
You need to look at Pidmedden near Strathmiglo which was good fun, and Scotty F on here will give you a bit more info on the Angus stuff.
You are welcome to join us when we are next out!
Cheers,
Dave

Sidlaws (DH) track got trees planted all over it a few years back. Those bombholes were great tooScotty C wrote:I raced at sidlaw a good few years ago. Some nice stuff there.

Best place near Dundee is Kinnoul Hill. Head in to perth on the A90, pass the first bridge (on your left) to the town, head towards the 2nd bridge and just before the crossroads, turn right up the hill towards the Murray Royal Hospital. Follow that road all the way to the top and you'll get to a car park. Dump car, head up the fire road (gate by the forrestry fence) and at the top of the hill, head in to the trees. The bottom of the DH track is clear to see .. follow one of the many routes to the top and belt your way back down. Top to bottom should take 2m50 or so

Re: MTB DUNDEE AREA
thanks guys just back from sidlaws, took a route up to the top passing to the right of a shingle patch, ran down it, first third is ok, open and fastish, but last two thirds where a narrow single track, should have been a good route, but the jaggies are all overgrown into the path, bit of a bummer. Rag, thanks for the offer, ill pm you soon. gotta find a few small drop offs and table tops now to see if my bottle (and ability) are still there.

You could try Pitmedden Forest, near Newburgh in Fife, they used to hold a round of the SXC there. Lots of decent single track and a few scary downhills...
Mike.
Doh! Just noticed two or three posts above.

Mick,
been hearing a lot about Falkland, but you sound a feck of a lot more daring than me!! Sounds pretty mental, but will def head up for a look, might pop up to get some pictures of maniacs!
Was at Pillar of Hercules on Sunday as out for an Etape training ride, it was indeed really nice, but after 45 miles, i could have sat down in a prison cell, with a bowl of wet porridge and enjoyed it!
