Update
I have emailed every Ayrshire MP/MSP/MEP I could find ( the MEP where not easy to find) and askrd to know why ayrshire roads are worse than anyone elses.
I have also submited a freedom of information request for just about everything road related I could think off.
My local MP has got back to me already to say that he has passed it back to the roads department, and asked my opinion of the building of a new bridge at the ford near the dean castle in Kilmarnock, as stupid people (his words) drive into it and get stuck. The price £1 million pounds! personally I say let them drown.

They spent about that much widening the bridge through Cumnock to fit a very wide pavement down one side where previously there was none. The only problem being, the new pavement doesn't connect to anything at either end, and the side that had a pavement anyway and that is connected to other pavements is still too narrow for more than one person.
I'd keep the ford as well.

Too bloody right Scotland's got a load of potholes! I think I must have hit everyone in Ayrshire this morning! Maybe the council will pay for my next geo and for a replacement set of Nitrons?

I got a letter from the central ayrshire MP today saying that it was all South Ayrshires fault. This I will forward on to the south Ayrshire MP asking why he is letting the side down
I also have been asked to come to the council roads department for a meeting with the head of the chief of something after my freedom of information request (I asked for everything

:D )

Another update
East Ayrshire are spending £45.64m on the road network over the next 3 years because they havn't been bothering (there words where due to a backlog)
£21m is to be spent on "carriageway structural maintenance" over the next 10 years.
Speed cushions (those crappy plastic speed bumps) are there so that people standing up in buses get a more comfortable ride.
They cost £2500 (a pair) whereas a conventional speed bump costs £1400.
The upgrade to the new "computer controlled" traffic light system cost £600,000 this has resulted in a 18.5 % increase in injury claims over the past 3 years but "serious" injury's have reduced from 6 to 2 in the same period.
The lights at the bellfield tavern have increased from zero in the 3 years before the "upgrade" to 2 but this has apparently speeded up your journey (although I have seen it backed up onto the 1 way system. This cost £71,000 but was paid for by a developer.
The pedestrian lights at glencairn square where installed to make it safer for pedestrians and cost £34,000 there hasn't been anyone injured either before or since.
I cannot get info on how much the council pays for it's insurance and how much that has increased over the years and how it relates to the amount of claims and how they have increased as there have been over 3000 claims and it would take 320 hours to complete. (although if I am willing to pay for it myself they will oblige) the same goes for maintenace records
