So what you're saying is that even the worlds best drivers make the most basic of mistakes and demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of how a car works at 10mph in the damp and completely fail to recover the car in any way other than feebly winding on 1/4 turn of lock and hoping for the best ? . . . ok fair enough . . . good point . . . congratulations are probably in order . . . I'll study that video for hints and tips . . .

It appears to say 'Gill' on the rear window
Mair throttle, less brake
Re: walshy showboating in a csl @ north weald
It is indeed Steve Gill's CSL, now emblazened with stickers like his company logo VME Retail. Steve entered his 1st ever race at the weekend at the CSL Cup at Brands Hatch. He lives next door to me and I was glad to see the CSL back on his drive in one piece this morning
I'll ask him to send a race report through when he gets a moment. As far as the car it's race prepared in as much as roll cage, AST suspension, AP brake setup, exhaust etc but running a standard engine, well for now at least

Re: walshy showboating in a csl @ north weald
It's my car - I did a walshy day before my first race at the weekend (Brands Indy)
Just to explain, walshy's partner Emma runs a uner 17 driving experience with a dual control car, and at the end of that walshy sometimes takes the kid out for a hot lap. When I saw they were finished I offered to Andy to use my car, but he asked me to take the kid round instead. I did 3 laps showboating (not as good as him but getting there!!) and at the end when I came back in he came straight over and said, that looked like fun can i drive for one lap please?
Hence the vid. I should explain I had comedy rear tyres on, nankangs with the purpose of being destroyed but between us we failed, they just wont die
Race result for anyone who's interested: qualified 6th out of 8, told I'm the 2nd heaviest car there (top 5 are about 175kg lighter than me) and finished the race in 5th place as the leader bailed out at paddock. My start was awful, lost one place but regained it after 4 laps and continued in clean air for pretty much the rest of the race.
Race 2 was a great start, me and 4 others got past the pole position (Geoff Steel, ex touring car driver) but I was the lucky sod who he was now behind, I held him off for 3 laps, but let him through at paddock after realising if I hit the apex he could have clipped my rear panel and probably span me, with messy consequences at that corner and that speed
Unfortunately didn't finish the race as my gearbox died, but overall had a great weekend. Diet on the cards for me now!!!!
